Builders Week-by-Week

January 7 - January 12

The main goal for this week is to finalize our robot design and to build the chassis.  On the first day, January 5, we counted the parts and familiarized ourselves with the manual. Fortunately, we were able to accomplish this.  On Monday, the plan was to go over the strategy and start talking about our robot design.  On Tuesday, we went over the tools and materials, but our decision about the robot design is not final.  Hopefully, we will be able to accomplish this by the end of our next meeting.  On Wednesday, we cut the chassis and started assembling it.  We are hoping to start working on the transmission tomorrow.  On Thursday, we were able to sand the frame.  On Friday, our goal was to work on the drive train.  Today, we just continued working on the transmissions.  On Saturday, we continued with the transmission and were able to finish.  Our goal for the following week is to work on the drive train.

 January 14 - January 19

The goals of this week were to get the drive train layout, sort materials and find out what parts that we need and have to finish.  We drilled the holes need in the chassis, and re-cut the chassis to the nal dimensions.  We worked on teh bumpers, and the boards we have gotten the boards ready, and drilled them.  It is not finalized because we are still in need of the cloth.

 January 21 - January 26

Last week we did the wheel spacers.  We also mounted the chain.  After we mounted the chain, the electrical was finished, and we finally got the robot to run.  We now have a arm design.  In order to test it out, we made a mock arm.

 January 27 - February 2

This week, the builders continued to build the mock up arm.  However, after several tests, we have decided to redesign the arm.

February 3 - February 16 (Two weeks)

In the past two weeks, the builders have been working on the construction and design of the arm.  It has taken two mock-ups of the arm, and re-designing the arm twice.  The builders and the drivers worked together to design the arm, to make arm more efficient.  We have a milestone in the arm, but the milestone came at a huge price.  The design did not have the necessary equiptment, so we redesigned an arm that would comply with accoutrement's  that  would work with the new design of the arm.  The final design of the arm and claw would rotate in a 360 degree and rotate in all three dimensions.  Then we constructed in, we have ran into many snags in the arm and we will come out swinging.  WE will fulfill our hopes dreams and aspirations of being a large competitior in the FIRST Robotics Competition.
